Maybelline Fit Me Anti Shine Foundation Stick
This has been one of my most requested reviews over the past month so I’m sorry it took my so long but I was trying to hunt down the right shade. Ironically when I finally found it I ended up picking up the wrong one and didn’t realise until I got home but it wasn’t a bad match in the end so I filmed a first impressions video (at the bottom of this post) and thought I’d give you a run down of my thoughts on the product here on my blog for you non-watchers.. lets call you readers, shall we?
Firstly the outer layer is a gel foundation and the core is ‘powdery’ – I’m fairly certain it’s not powder but more of a cream to powder formula which mixed with the gel leaves an odd initial finish to the skin. I thought it was too dry and perhaps designed for very oily skin so didn’t think I was going to like it but as the day went on it seemed to somehow get better. Any of you that have tried uber powdery oil control products will no doubt have experienced that pivotal moment when it’s absorbed just enough oil that it looks great, no longer looks powdery but doesn’t yet look shiny and that’s what happens here. At first I didn’t love it but by the end of the day I was sold. It does cling to drier areas and I wouldn’t recommend it if your skin is dry but if you’re combination/oily I think you’ll like it. I also found that it applied better with a brush that my fingers which was unexpected given that it’s in stick form. I was also expecting more coverage out of this packaging but it’s really quite light which I like but its not going to be ideal for those who are oily and also trying to disguide a lot of breakouts. In fact I’d say your skin has to be pretty good to wear this so you’re probably looking at more mature oily skin rather than teenage spot prone oiliness.
